Family Force 5 Years Later

Today I went on a lovely run. Well, actually there was very little about it that was lovely. It was cold and trying to rain. I am not really in shape so I had to push myself to keep going (but I did keep going without stopping!). And I am still getting used to the fact that I am in Draper, not Provo (not a bad thing! Just different in having to figure out new routes).

The good thing about this run, I would say, was the soundtrack. I chose to listen to Family Force 5 today to get me pumped to run because they usually do pretty well with that. They didn't fail today. But the thing that I realized that is the reason for me telling this story right now, is that it was exactly 5 years ago when my love for FF5 began. Freshman year. Stephen Bower asked me if I had ever heard of them because I said I was from Atlanta. I was intrigued and looked them up. At first, I have to admit that I hated them. But somehow they were still on my Napster playlist (yeah this was a while ago, before my grooveshark days) and it didn't take too long for me to acquire the taste for their krunk rock. And I loved them. I remember listening to them during the fall, especially October. I specifically remember falling asleep listening to them after watching a scary movie around Halloween. I was obsessed.

And my roommates thought I was just being ridiculous (not an unfair claim, knowing me). But I wasn't. As can be proved with my still undying devotion 5 years later. Thankfully their eyes were also opened to the awesomeness known as FF5 and they accompanied me to some pretty sweet concerts.

Anyways, before I drag this out any longer than it already is, I just wanted to publicly announce that I still love my fellow Atlantans known as Family Force 5. Cheers to 5 happy years of listening and hopefully here's to many more in the future.

Their first song I ever heard:

One of their latest songs that I love:
