Confession Time

Sometimes I don't care if the kids know the why in math. Sometimes I think it's ok to just teach the algorithm. I know in theory they'll be able to remember the algorithm better if they understand the why behind it, but sometimes you have a class of monsters who have to be ready to take the benchmark in 2 weeks and you still have so much to teach and review. So sometimes teaching the algorithm is what I'm gonna do, ok? And you know what else? I don't think that multiplying decimals really makes sense to anybody in this world, we just all pretend that it does.
